  • The Dagestan Chronicles presented by Will Harris Productions
As you all know, back at UFC 223, UFC Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov invited me to Dagestan, Russia.
Me being the trooper I am, took him up on his offer and came abroad to witness and learn more about the people of Dagestan.
I am thankful to Khabib, his family and his management team for inviting me over to Dagestan to experience something no one has done before from the US. I learned so much about the Dagestan Culture, the Muslim Faith and the humility in which the champ has. There are too many people to thank for this moment and I will later in the future. I hope my journey is appreciated and stands tall in time next to the great productions I will produce in the future. These moments will be with me forever.
    Directed by Will Harris Productions
Song at the end was made by Glass Meadows - Khabib Time

I even don't know how many times, I watched first 4:37 of this clip.

Right from start, it's so captivating with it's background music and start line, " I have water bread, I need nothing. Everything is good."

There is a Russian saying, " Vizde horosho no Doma lu4e" . " Everywhere is good, but home is better"

Khabib's nostalgia for his homeland is so pure and touching. His narrative about the history of his country while driving along a fascinatingly scenic road takes you out of this world. Explicitly serene.

Khabib's father's views on life and his expression where he says," The world through window, this story suits me. I know I am not eternal." He made heavy topics of life looked so easy and comprehensive. Bravo. Respect.

What this documentary does not show (and rightfully out of respect and protection of their women) is how much these men love their wives off camera. And out of respect it is their own privacy and not for the whole world to examine their relationship. I come from a strict culture and I realize why our mothers and sisters are protected and why they themselves (without male influence) CHOOSE to keep their life private and out of modesty and respect for the honor of their husbands fathers brothers etc.. Same time men also are required to keep their eyes away from another man's wife daughter sister.. etc.. Only acceptable if you are related or married.

"For everyone asking about women, I seen plenty of women in and out of the house. Hell I fell in love once or twice with how beautiful some of them were, but one thing I learned and respect is that they value their women as queens and not show. Why have another man looking and drooling over your wife? As for the single women in Dagestan, they all wore normal clothes. Its just respectful to not film women on camera. But yes, there were women everywhere I went."

READ: With all due respect to you, let go of your emotions/hatred, go do some proper research on Prophet Muhammed pbuh and society as a whole from a historical time period and you will realise how kind he was to the people and how beautiful and humble of a character he had. He was honest and just with everyone including those who abused him. When you read about his character you will NOT see a pedophile (someone out for sexual pleasure). You cannot compare someone's age 2000+ years ago to someone today and say that they are exactly the same in terms of psychological, physical, emotional, biological development as science would strongly disprove. 2000 years ago the societal norms were very much different than they are today and if someone from 2000 years ago came to present time today, they would find much of our customs, laws, and traditions strange and vice versa. 2000+ years ago the Jews, Romans, Greeks, Persians, Mongols, were marrying at young ages as well and back then marriage (or any modern day relationship) was not just for lustful desires as many people have now claimed it to be.. it's primary purpose was to bring communities, tribes, people together and to remove animosity amongst each other by building a family especially in a tribalistic desert based society. Muhammed pbuh came to reform society and to give rights to women (something they didn't have back then) from a historical context. Moreover, how was he a pedophile when his wife never called him a pedophile or a person who raped or abused her? In fact historical evidence and narrations have shown that Aisha spoke the exact opposite about him; about how he loved her and cared for her and protected her. ALSO growing up she loved him to such a large extent that she had this protective jealousy for her husband from others in the community. If an individual felt abused in a relationship or injustice was done to them, the last thing they would do would be to narrate the love between them or the feeling of protectiveness they had for them (Especially when Aisha lived many many years AFTER Muhammed's (pubh) passing away and could have spoken out then!). Furthermore, why did the Prophet pbuh wait till after she reached maturity to marry her when he could have married her much earlier?? Furthermore to make yet another point for you and a historical one at that to put things into context for everyone, the powerful people in Muhammed's (pbuh) community offered him several beautiful Arabian women, wealth/riches, immense power beyond any man's imagination of that time period prior to Aisha, in the exchange that he stops preaching the religion of Jesus, Abraham, Moses, David, Noah.. why? Because it was hurting their influential power in their corrupt society which had roots of slavery and abuse to women (burying women alive). Any man of today who is a corrupt, pedophile, pimp, out for lust and pleasure would take this offer of women and wealth without hesitation. However Mohammed pbuh rejected it completely and spoke out for women's rights and the belief in one God alone, that a black man is not better or worse than a white man, and hence him and his followers (the same as many Prophets in the past) faced persecution and abuse in society. This is not the character of a pedophile or a womanizer. Muhammed pbuh came to reform society. His enemies called him the worst of things and would jump at any point to slander Muhammed pbuh but NEVER in history did they ever call him a pedophile after he married Aisha. WHY? Because the societal norm of marriage and it's reasons for one to marry was different. Marriage was to honor the rights of a women by providing her wealth, protection, and love/care. Moreover back then (in Roman/Greek/Arabian society) people did not just come to a conclusion that someone was legally ready for marriage based on a number ("Oh she's 18 now so she is obviously ready for marriage now"), no. They focused on the individual's maturity, mental state, physical state, puberty, family etc. One of the wisdom behind God's plan of having Muhammed pbuh marry Aisha was that she lived several several years AFTER Muhammed pbuh, and by doing so she was able to help the generations that came after by retaining Islamic knowledge and the teachings of Muhammed pbuh. She was among the first female scholars of it's time and one of the major contributor to Islam's progression and retainment for the hundreds of years that came after. A promise by God to preserve His religion. And who would know the Prophet, her husband, better and more than his own wife? I guess a person attacking the character of a Prophet and his wife from 2000 years ago, having a limited mindset to the scope of only the past few tens of decades would not be able to see past this. Furthermore, believe it or not in TODAYS time period we have countries and states that allow marriage of individuals as young as 10 years old provided that the parents are okay with it! Don't believe me? Go check it out for yourself and these are NOT Muslim countries!! Islam is there to protect the rights of a women from abuse as it goes one step further with regards to marriage. If a Muslim wants to get married, they need to get the blessings/permission from their parent/guardian so that if one wants to get married and if their family sees a problem or injustice occurring or that their daughter for ex. is not mentally, physically mature they could intervene. Which is a lot better than many other "acceptable" marriage routes because it provides protection to one's child before they leap into a mature relationship. NOW the more appropriate question: Do many muslims marry their kids at 10 today because that's what world-based societies did 2000+ years ago to bring communities together?! OF COURSE NOT! Many of us are not mentally, financially, or physically ready for marriage and hence many Muslims get married after a more appropriate age of 20. But again! Its an individual's choice as to when they feel ready to marry (and by of course respecting today's legal marriage ages/laws per country). ALSO bud, I can guarantee to you that your ancestors who were probably living in an ancient roman, greek, persian, asian society several thousands of years ago were getting married at 10 years old and this my friend is not me speaking but history for itself! Would you call your ancestors pedophiles too?!? Why not? AGAIN because you can't compare today's society to one that is thousands of years old! The reason for marriage back then was not only for lust but for something far greater that many of the youth today will not appreciate. Having a boyfriend or girlfriend or having friends with benefits (no commitment) would be seen as something strange several thousands of years ago but many find it normal today. The world, human society, and history is far greater and diverse than the 4 corners of one's bedroom or the small mind and life experience of an individual in the 21st century. Even many people who travel to other parts of the world for the first time always learn a new custom that they initially saw as strange. The idea is to respect it and to not make fun of it just because it is "different" to what one believes to be correct. Especially when true context is not there as in this case. Muhammed Pbuh was NOT a pedophile because if he was a pedophile than so were your great great great great.... grandparents. You need to put things into context before bashing them. Forgive me for any of my own shortcomings. And God knows best. Peace bud.

Great production Will. You've done a fantastic job here.
One thing that I wished you could give us a better idea of is what life is like for females in Dagestan. I kept waiting to see a female and outside of to elderly aunts and some very young children not a single female was to be seen. Now I can understand that if a man is married that his outside interests may very well keep him only interacting with other males so not to disrespect his wife, but is the reason that we didn't see any females in these documentaries because you were with Khabib and he simply doesn't interact, or is the explanation more likely a social one where females are segregated and "kept"?
If you could give us some insight it would be greatly appreciated.

So do these men just procreate within themselves, is this some evolutionary glitch that has been swept under the rug or what? Where are all the WOMEN????????????? Have yet to see a single one in any of these videos, khabib's insta, etc. Hard to see the dude as likable when his whole entire ambiance comes off sexist af, very neanderthal. You know what is creepier? Your thirst to see women on these videos. Maybe dagestani men don't want their wives and daughters being the subject of youtube comments like "wow that chick at 5:04 could get it" or some degrading shit like that. It's their culture to protect what they love and treasure from the public eye so please respect that.

That's coz you only saw this video and want to see your vitriolic bile here. They don't display their women for the precise reason that internet neckbeard virgins want to leave thirsty, desperate comments. It's a thing called respect, something people like you seem to have DEvolved from. I guess showing off someone's mother, sister, daughter or wife as eye candy is nothing new to you people, that is why it concerns you so much. Better this than the emasculated males and freethenip wahmen you've normalized in your society.

However, I caution my fellow Muslims and ask them to really think before they brag about "our morals/culture vs theirs" - many places in the so-called Muslim world are losing this and are just a materialistic and irreligious as places in the "secular world." If you like what you see in Dagestan and these videos then preserve it in your own homes and towns before it disappears.

I gotta admit, I was a blind Conor fanboy for a while after Khabib won. Now that I actually looked into Khabib, he seems quite humble and very likable. I still like Conor and all, but he talks way too much shit where it isn't needed. Khabib didn't talk shit and he still won the battle.

I stand with Conor, always have, always will. I like Khabib too. Conor wins fights and loose fights aswell, he deserve whatever result he gets and gets on with business. Muslim or no muslim, this world is full of sin. We fight and we die, the next generation takes over.

Something is wrong when you make claims about a religion you know nothing about. As it is said in Qur'an, "READ!!!". Please, read, read more, do your research properly. PLEASE.

Something is wrong when you want to display your wife like a trophy, and their respect level depends on how less clothes they wear. I just don't get it.

He is joking. In Caucasus it's not acceptable to be disrespectful to a guest even if he is your enemy.
